I confirmed and paid my deposit through GetVan, I sent a message to the supplier and awaited a call to confirm everything.
The Saturday before I moved house, I had still heard nothing. I scoured the internet for a contact number and eventually found their Facebook page.
I called the number and spoke to a man, it was immediately clear that they hadn't checked GetVan and I had to go through all of the information again with him. We agreed the collection as quoted on the job. He confirmed all was OK and they'd see me on Friday.
The day before I moved, I called Tac-removals again and spoke to the same person, to confirm that they would be with me for 0800 on the Friday as we had agreed, both on the booking and in the phone call. This was time critical as we needed to meet the estate agent in time to get the keys.
I was told everything would be fine and they'd be on time. At this point the tone in his voice made me unsure and so I called him that afternoon just to reiterate the importance. He then advised me the driver may be there at 0900 as he's been lifting boxes all day and so it depends what time he gets out of bed.
The day of the move, I spoke to Tac again as it was 1000 and no sign, after several phone calls back and forth I was told they had broken down and the AA were delivering a part. I was given a new ETA of 1100.
Time and lots more phone calls passed until at 1230 the man I had been speaking to advised me they were still waiting for the AA but asked me to leave my keys or he could drive 1 and a half hours to collect them and they'd deliver later. Not having any trust in these people, or knowledge of who they were I told them they had missed the slot and so I had to hire a van myself and move all the furniture, finally arriving at 11pm (12 hours late).
I am not sure whether these people are genuine, but I would recommend extreme caution if you have any timescales you have to work to.

DTL Freight is one of the worst companies that I have encountered in my life. They charged me in advance £39.50 and never showed up. The mobile phone that they provide to GETVAN never gets picked up. They only email you with the details of the job so you think they are going to do it, then they send you an invoice and at that moment they start sending you emails delaying the job. After a couple of emails with bad excuses they stop sending you emails and never respond again.

Hello and good morning. I noted your needs. Not sure what you mean about "Part-strip-down"? Ultimately, the weight is the same but with additional bits in ends up with boxed goods, so not sure much is gained with overall volume reduction. What is the insured value? I assume as second hand there is no issue of damage in transit or this is a real concern. Price wise, what budget were you expecting to pay, I ask as with a weak pound it's more expensive than before Brxit! I await your reply. Regards Don
By taking the forks out and laying them on the footboards, the length is shortened by around ten inches and the forks are still contained within a shorter footprint. I will help with loading and securing, a blanket and ratchet straps are generally all that's needed.
Hi, yes point taken but one needs the space above to maximise space for other goids and this is why bikes are awkward and often higher cost than say a sofa, not least they are smelly, oily and unstackable. I have bid on the assumption no unsurance and your willing to comply within my scheduling.
