Labelling and Removal Boxes, Two Essential Parts of Moving Day

When you're moving home getting the little things right can be just as important as getting the big things right. That's to say, in addition to making sure you choose the right removal company, something like labelling your boxes correctly can not only save you time but also, potentially, save you money. Before you think about labelling properly however, you need to make sure you have the right removal boxes available for everything you need to take. As such, labelling and boxes are two things which, if done correctly, can give you a very good moving day.

First of all, you need to make sure you have enough packing boxes and removal boxes. Often, a good removal firm will have these for you. The advantage of getting them from a professional removal firm is they should be of a good quality. Even if you get them from somewhere like the local supermarket or from friends and family, don't take chances on poor quality boxes. This, what seems at first, little detail can cause havoc on your moving day as your removal men struggle to carry boxes which are falling apart.

This, in turn, can mean any moving day schedule you have goes out the window as items, need to be carried individually or you end up frantically calling here and there trying to find more removal boxes during your actual move taking place.

This is why it pays to invest in good quality moving boxes. You may still have some boxes that are naturally more sturdy than others. So take a moment to make sure that heavier items, or if you prefer, more fragile items, are in the sturdier boxes. At the same time, you must also make sure that you don't become over confident with how strong the removal cartons and boxes are. Do not overfill because this too can slow up the removal men as they struggle with boxes that even they have trouble lifting. When moving day goes over schedule it can end up costing you  more money not to mention the extra stress involved.

Again, this is why you should give adequate time and attention to your removal boxes.

Likewise, in order to have a smoother moving day, it can be a major help to take extra care with your labelling. First of all, think big. One of the easiest mistakes to make when buying labels is to but ones that are too small for your needs. So you can't write in big letters and this means you can only see what's written on them up close. If you, and the removal men, can see from a distance what's inside each box it can be another way your moving home day goes that bit quicker and better. Having bigger labels also means you can write more information on each one if necessary. This too, can be such an essential time saver because you can write on each label, if it's big enough, which room you'd like each item to go in your new property. Whether it's for the bedroom, kitchen or living room, the removal men can place each box in its appropriate place around your new home saving you much needed time and effort.

If there still isn't that much room to write on a label, you can colour code each box. Put a large blue dot on a label that is meant for the bedroom, a red one for the living room, yellow for kitchen etc. The clearer things are for the removal men, the better it can be for yourself. In turn, this is why you should hire a removal company which has removal men who are professionally trained and who know how to follow instructions. By labelling correctly and by having the correct boxes, you should have a smoother and less stressful moving day.
