Last Minute Thoughts

When the big day has arrived and you are about to set off for your new home, the excitement can be incredible. With all the energy and the adrenaline flowing through your system, it can be easy to forget one or two smaller considerations which could be important. Amid all the upheaval and chaos which could well be surrounding your move to a new life, remember to consider several of the smaller less thought of things in order to ensure that the move goes off without a hitch.

One of the most important things to consider during any move is the making of a moving list. An itinerary detailing the little things which you need to remember, a good moving list should be constructed early and protected with your life.

With the right list, it is far harder to forget times and dates, as well as addresses and directions.

A good list will help you organise not just yourself, but anyone you might happen to be moving with, as well as any delivery drivers and hired help which you have taken on board. It might be a good idea to have two copies, or even to laminate the list in order to make sure that no damage is ever done which might derail the move in any way.

As well as a list, a survival box for your move might well be incredibly important. A collection of the essentials, this should work in tandem with the list as something which you can continuously add to so that you never forget. When moving abroad, it is likely to include passports, paperwork, phrasebooks, ID cards, maps and all the essential documents that you might need. Also useful are the little things like food and drink, especially if you will be travelling for a long time. IF you have children or pets, toys and distractions can make the move a lot easier.
